As a fireball, I am fire itself,
A flame dancing in the endless night.
The universe whispered my name with pride,
And I shined brightly to everyone's amazement.
As the only guide for lost sailors;
Poets whispered against my enchantment,
Children made wishes against my charm,
Lovers dreamed under my glow.
As one of the indispensable jewels of the sky,
I watched the earth from the corner of my eye.
They called me eternal; they called me endless,
Always believed that I would be me.
But even the gods fear the cruelty of time.
I slowly faded from the sky.
One by one, the eyes turned away,
No more wishes, no words to say.
I watch them go by in deathly silence,
Drifting to a place no one knows.
Once adored, now lost and small,
Because everyone will fall one day.
