As you go up the hill,

You’ll only see more,

More miles of bumpy road,

It goes up and it goes down,

And the steep descent down,

Which instils hopelessness,

Into the toughest of hearts,

It goes up and it goes down,

And when you feel as the sun smiles down upon,

The cool breeze like a sweet hum,

You feel it’s here, a happy gleam

The ascent no more than a fleeting dream,

It goes up and it goes down,

How beautiful it would be,

To stop the relentless flow of time,

To reflect and to look back upon,

We don’t know when it’ll end but we know,

It goes up and it goes down.
