“Abomination,” they yell, behind closed doors
While painting saints on their sacred floors.
But those they shun, those they deride
Carry the weight of a world denied
We are not hostilities to be erased
Nor whispers, nor time displaced
The myths may blind, but they cannot define
The strength of those they forced to confine
A boy who speaks, his voice too gentle
His steps too soft, his eyes too sentimental
"A sin," they say, "a soul astray"
And cast him to the shadows’ fray
The truth will rise one day
To push their prejudice away
Will recount of justice, carved new
For all who live, for all who grew
