Dear Reader,
Legends tell the tale of a people’s past, beliefs outline their values and morality. From stories of ghosts and haunting towns to the faith that if one says certain words, they may make it to paradise; these stories outline the human experience. To discuss such a theme is hard, because one may not limit to a few possible and simple prompts. During this issue, our authors and illustrators have retold myths of old, interpreted them or formed those of their own. They have mixed their values, with those of others, they have formed a mixture of familiar tales and those spun into different directions. Through their art, not only have they revealed the window from which they view our world, but also opened the door for you to take a peak as well. While editing their works, we have seen and internalized their worldviews, and in our own works, we have offered our own. So, dear reader, how do the legends and beliefs you heard as a child reflect your worldview now? Could you pick a favorite, if so what would that say about you? And dear reader, as you read, think: which one of this issue’s works have you found that resonates with you?
Enjoy your DIVE,
