Japanese Blood Type Personality Theory

Categories are everywhere. Skin colors, horoscopes, nationalities … In fact, they are the key factors that affect how one’s opinions on others are shaped. But, what about blood types? We are all familiar with the four major blood types: A, B, AB, and 0. Besides being the vital fluid in our bodies, human blood reveals a lot about one’s personality depending on its type, Japanese people believe.

Companies in Japan even ask for applicants’ blood types during job interviews and make their decisions accordingly. Let’s see if you are eligible for a job in Japan regarding your blood type personality

Blood Type A

40 % of Japanese population is type A. “A” people are primarily characterized as well-organized. Although they can be stubborn or stressed out easily, they quite care about hygiene and neatness. They value living or working in harmony with others. Some Japanese rumors even state that the origins of this blood type are farmers, and working with collaboration on farms have a huge impact on the development of these personality traits.

20 % of Japanese population is type B. “B” people are primarily characterized as selfish. Although they are strongly curious, they can lose interest quite easily. Their origins are thought to be nomadic people who moved from place to place.

Blood Type AB

10 % of Japanese people are type AB. As it is genetically a mixture of blood types A and B, it also shares some personality traits that these two carry. For example, AB people can be shy like A types, or outgoing like B types.  They are often characterized as dual-natured and complicated. It is the rarest blood type both in Japan and throughout the World, which reinforces the stereotype that AB people are known to be eccentric.

30% of Japanese population is type 0. “0” people are often characterized as optimistic. They have leadership abilities and are outgoing. They do not care much about details, so they don’t quite get along with A types. Although they are not punctual, they are resilient and flexible.
