Grammys is undoubtedly one of the most prestigious music award shows. Grammys 2019 was no exception and it was as stunning as always with so many unforgettable moments from wins to performances. And today, we will be counting down our top 10 picks from the red carpet of Grammys 2019 and see if these music icons are as strong in fashion-game as they are in the music industry.
Number 10: Jennifer Lopez
As one of the most iconic pop queens ever, JLo has a huge responsibility to deliver every single year. This year she did just that by wearing a gorgeous elegant gown with a huge hat which was something that no one saw coming. The unexpected nature of this whole outfit elevated it even more, helping this look get into our list. Our only critique would be the length of the dress which really does not satisfy us as it definitely should have been longer. However, the embedded-rhinestoned dress is a masterpiece that made Jennifer Lopez one of the highlights of the night.
Number 9: Lady Gaga
Actually, we hated this look at the first sight and decided not to include in our list. However, as we looked closer and thought harder, it definitely clicked for us and made us give this outfit the 9th place on our list. Lady Gaga who is known for campy fashion and weird looks on the red carpet from meat dresses to bubble dresses, has really changed her style for this year’s Grammys. As she has stepped foot into the movie industry, she has portrayed a massive amount of growth both as an artist and an individual which is something she did on the red carpet. With this elegant silver sequined gown, lady gaga served a queen, not a princess and her performance of ‘Shallow’ was stellar. Even though the dress hides her proportions a little bit, the way it fits her body makes up for it. The simplicity of the overall outfit with only a necklace as jewelry improved the elegance of the overall ensemble. Last but not least, her blonde hair looks great as always and her make up is simple, yet flawless. The perfect fit for the red carpet.
Number 8: Dua Lipa
The winner of this year’s Best New Artist Awards made her Grammys debut with this stellar look and we must say, it’s not easy to make into our list at the first time. However, this perfect and elegant dress with a long tulle and an outstanding necklace did not leave us with anything else but to put it in 8th place. As an artist who grew over the past few year, she is really making a statement as to how she is such a powerful artist in the industry and a new force to be reckoned with. Her signature hair is on point as always and she is proving us that this hair of hers can be worn with anything from sweatpants and t-shirts to elegant gowns in prestigious award shows.
Number 7: H.E.R.
H.E.R was an artist who had numerous nominations in a variety of categories, so she had the pressure of serving a dazzling look on the red carpet to live up to her nominations. And we must say that she did good. She was definitely one of the highlights of the night, making top 7 in our list. This jumpsuit, giving the illusion of a gown, is everything! The galaxy-like fabric of the jumpsuit is stunning, and her hair is on point. Her signature glasses are also chic and put a twist on the whole look without disturbing its quality. The only negative we have to say is regarding the usage of accessories. It looks like she wore those bracelets and blue ring just to say ‘I wore accessories.’. They were not necessary at all just like that purse she is holding. Even though the accessories and the purse were nothing to gag over, they were not enough to stop H.E.R. from serving galactic princess going to space awards realness.
Number 6: Heidi Klum
She might not know how to sing, but that did not stop her from turning looks in the Grammys 2019. This particular look really showed how much of a fashion icon she is as it was with one word: AMAZING! The unusual silhouette of the dress and the creativity it reflects are really capturing the essence of Heidi Klum’s fashion allure. The cut of the dress shows off her curves and makes her look perfect. Her hair is nice as always and the usage of accessories is on point. The only negative thing we have to say is those shoes. Those shoes are the simplest shoes ever which you can buy at a thrift store. Other than that, it is absolutely gorgeous and deserve the 6th place in our list.
Number 5: Alicia Keys
“Simple dress + simple accessories + simple hair + simple make up” seems like a recipe of red carpet disaster at first, however, on the contrary this is an absolutely exceptional look. The cut of this dress and the length are absolutely perfect, and the simplicity of the whole ensemble really portray her feminine allure and natural beauty. As the host of the show, Alicia Keys did not have an easy job to undertake and she might have ignored the red carpet while focusing on her hosting. It clearly shows that she did not do that and worked hard to ensure that she is the simplest, yet gorgeous person to walk on that carpet that day.
Number 4: Miley Cyrus
She is not that girl you think you know anymore, she is much more elegant, mature and definitely stunning. We absolutely love this look, it is a definite fashion moment. She has taken a simple black suit, put her on twist on it by adjusting the fitting and the proportions and walked that carped with grace and perfection. From head to toe, we think it is absolutely gorgeous. Her hair is very natural and very beautiful which is something that we have missed seeing on Miley for a long time. She is proving everyone she still is THAT girl and not letting anything get on her way. Category is: business women eleganza extravaganza !
Number 3: Bebe Rexha
Bebe Rexha’s fashion look was a hot topic this Grammys as she was rejected by so many designers due to her size (?). However, she posted a social media video in which she disses those designers and talked about natural beauty and how size does not matter. This perfect look was a clap back to all those designers who did her wrong. This red and outstanding dress with so much volume and figure is one of the best looks of the night. Along with dazzling jewelry and a simple hair design, she has proven all those designers wrong and really showed that anyone can be beautiful, regardless of what everyone else say.
Number 2: Cardi B
Unexpected this is, if we know the word. With this unexpected, yet outstanding outfit, Cardi was one of the most-talked-about celebrities of the night. When she walked on that carpet there was not a single jaw that didn’t drop and that was for a reason. She was giving us champagne bottle realness and she surely did made us feel dizzy. It was a definite fashion moment and she lived up to all those nominations she had for the night.
Number 1: Janelle Monae
This look from Janelle Monae is to put it simply: a look™. From the sharp and overbearing shoulders, to the pleading, to the cut of the dress everything about this is completely gorgeous. Even though we don’t necessarily adore the hat, we love its reference to the Grammys record. Janelle looks stunning to say the least and we can honestly say she deserves the number one spot since she’s clearly killing it. Although she did not end up winning any of her nominations, she definitely won our hearts with this outfit.
